Lately. At King's Cliffe, co. Northampton, aged 86, Mrs. Esther Gibbon, a worthy lady, who had both the ability and will to do much good to those around her.

      --- "Stamford Mercury" 16 Jul 1790, page 3:
Lately died, at King's Cliffe, in Northamptonshire, aged 86, Mrs. Esther Gibbon; a worthy lady, who had both the ability and will to do much good to those around her.

      --- "Edward Gibbon, 1737-1794" by D.M. Low, 1937, page 13:
Hester took after her father in the manly vigour of her understanding, and in a certain rigidity and even moroseness of temper. She became an apt disciple of Law's religion without relaxing her grasp on the affairs of this world. People spoke of her as a very good sort of lady but looked on her as a little mad. She was an undoubted Miranda.
