Answers of Samuel Trewbody and wife Elizabeth, and Philip Mayow, esquire, to bill of complaint of Arthur, Philippa and Susanna Kelly, Edward Puckey of Liskeard, gentleman and wife Grace, and William Kelly, clerk, and wife Mary. Will made 1723 by William Hancock, late husband of Elizabeth, wife of Samuel Trewbody, and grandfather to Kellys, left remainder of goods to his wife Elizabeth and his father in law Sir Nicholas Trevanion now deceased. John Moyle of Bake, esquire, to dispose of goods to pay debts; property after death or remarriage of Elizabeth, to go to grandchildren. Will proved, inventory taken, valued £1546 and 9 shillings and 10 pence. Legacies amounted to £2,000. Kellys present at valuation, but took by force from Elizabeth's closet a trunk of documents including deeds of Truthell, St Germans, consequently Elizabeth cannot claim moneys due from lands granted on her marriage settlement as relevant deed is in trunk.
