136. Jules Leotard, French acrobat who developed the art of trapeze, c. 1860 (notice that he's wearing his now-famous leotards).

137. Presumed to have been taken while Lord Eliot was at Logie Elphinestone (Scotland) during August 1874 or at Raby House in September 1873. Standing in back, left to right. 1) Dr. Thomas William Baxter Aveling, Congregational Minister (Chairman of the Congregational Union and activist in the London City Mission). 2) Hon. Jeffery Charles Amherst, 4th son of the 2nd Earl Amherst 3) William Gordon, Lord Eliot (later 4th Earl of St Germans). 4) Colonel Hugh Smith Baillie, late of the Royal Horse Guards and noted racehorse owner and prodigious gambler. Seated, left to right. 5) Lady Ellinor Amherst, youngest daughter of the 2nd Earl Amherst (William Pitt Amherst). 6) Henry Neville (later 7th Lord Braybrooke). 7) Lady (Viscountess) Glentworth, wife of Colonel Baillie. 8) Viscountess Holmesdale (nee Julia Mann Cornwallis).
